We are pleased to announce that the Housing Agency of Ireland is one of the latest certified members to join the EcoMerit Community.
We think it’s fantastic to see a government agency lead by example and join the EcoMerit programme of resource efficiency and sustainability. Taking action on climate and creating a sustainable, green economy has to come from all areas of our society. It is particularly important to see action coming from our government institutions. The Housing Agency has shown great leadership by taking this issue seriously and seeking out professional support to continually measure, monitor and improve their environmental performance over the years to come.
The Housing Agency had this to say on receiving their certification:
“The Housing Agency was presented with its EcoMerit certification . . . by EcoMerit Director Bobby Lambert to The Agency’s CEO Bob Jordan. This certifies that the Agency now monitors and manages its emissions, its consumption of energy and water and its waste in line with EcoMerit’s standards. This is a part of our commitment to reaching a reduction of emissions by 30% by 2030. According to EcoMerit, The Housing Agency is making very good progress in both planning and implementation, and is a great example to others in taking meaningful action on climate.”
