We are pleased to announce a new member of the EcoMerit Community: digital design agency, Graphedia. The Wexford and Kildare based business offer “superlative digital design assets that work” from websites and apps to logos and videos. EcoMerit has been working with them to create a bespoke environmental improvement plan for their business and develop their green credentials. We will continue to provide support and measure their progress over time, as they implement actions from the plan.
Graphedia initially accessed funded environmental support from EcoMerit through the Green for Micro programme, of which EcoMerit is a leading service provider. This two-day programme is a good first step towards understanding the environmental impact of your business and how you can start to make improvements.
Graphedia then went on to pursue full EcoMerit Certification, giving them access to ongoing support and a green certification that shows customers and stakeholders their commitment to environmental sustainability. Using the Green for Micro project as a springboard EcoMerit worked with Graphedia to develop an Environmental Policy and an action-oriented Environmental Improvement Plan. Guidance was also provided on how to use the EcoMerit performance workbooks to monitor their energy, carbon, water and waste usage. We look forward to seeing them join in the success of the EcoMerit Community, which has achieved average emissions reductions of over 60% over the last 10 years, while saving millions of euros in costs.
Wexford County Councillor and Chair of the EcoMerit Oversight Board, Leonard Kelly, visited Graphedia’s Wexford office to present them with their EcoMerit Certificate. He commented:
“I was delighted to present Graphedia with their EcoMerit Certificate. It’s brilliant to see another Wexford business taking action on its environmental impact, especially given the latest reports from the IPCC reminding us of the urgency of the climate situation. The EcoMerit programme is an evidence based, tried and tested system for helping businesses improve their environmental performance and green credentials. As a certified member of the EcoMerit Community, Graphedia now has the support and tools to become a leading example of sustainable business in the county (and country), and I wish them the best of luck on their journey.”
