The EcoMerit Team provides the executive services on behalf of the Community, including:
- Certification services, e.g. client visits, assessments and surveillances
- Support for best practice in environmental performance of community members
- Assistance to Certified Members in accessing finance

![]() | Phil Walker Managing Director An engineer who started his career in the UK shipbuilding industry. Later in South Korea and China he developed quality and environmental certification businesses for an international certification body. He designed and launched EcoMerit in 2009 and has progressively developed the business since that time. To date, he has assisted more than 150 Irish business to improve their sustainability. Phil holds a first class honours degree in Naval Architecture, an M.Sc.vin Production Technology, a Diploma in Welding Technology and a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management. phil@ecocert.ie | |||
![]() | Christian Kubernat Technical Director An environmental scientist with over 15 years’ experience in the field, and wide experience in the area of resource efficiency, cleaner production and environmental management systems in businesses of all sizes and sectors. He has worked as environmental consultant with the Clean Technology Centre and the EcoMerit Environmental Support & Certification Program. In the last 10 years he has provided consultancy for a number of Irish Government funded EPA National Waste Prevention Programs including Green Business, Green Hospitality, Green Festivals and Green Healthcare. Christian holds an honours science degree in Environmental Studies, a diploma in Environment & Development and is a Certified Energy Auditor. christian@ecomerit.ie | |||
![]() | Bobby Lambert Business Development Director An engineer with a background in international aid, including 10 years as CEO of a London based NGO (RedR) and 12 years running his own consultancy business, catering to Irish and international clients. He has a lifelong interest in environmental matters and enjoys working on organisational effectiveness, business planning and marketing. He has been associated with EcoMerit since March 2016. He has a degree in Engineering from University College Dublin, a Masters in Public Health Engineering from Imperial College London and is a chartered member of Engineers Ireland. bobby@ecomerit.ie | |||
![]() | James Atkinson Marketing Development Manager James is an experienced brand builder and sustainability professional. He has held sustainability management roles in Saudi Arabia and Canada. Before that, he worked with Jameson Irish Whiskey, successfully seeding the brand in Poland and Thailand. He has a B. Comm. from University College Dublin and an Masters in Business Sustainability from the Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School. |
